Dr. Malgosia Pakulska is a freelance science writer and speaker with a passion for showing the world what science is all about.

She completed her PhD at the University of Toronto studying drug delivery strategies for central nervous system regeneration and continued to work at the University of Toronto as a Research Associate and Project Manager for the Medicine by Design program. She currently works in Foundation Partnerships at the University of Toronto. During the course of her PhD, Dr. Pakulska developed a love of writing, especially promoting and explaining research to the public. Her science background allows her to easily translate complex ideas into understandable and engaging stories.

Dr. Pakulska currently writes for Research2Reality, a blog designed to engage the public in Canadian research, and Science Borealis. Her writing has been featured on the CCRM Signal’s blog, the L’Oreal Discov’Her blog, and in the University of Toronto’s IMS Magazine. She is a member of the Canadian Science Writer’s Association and has been an invited speaker for international organizations including the International Women’s Forum and the Professional Engineers of Ontario.

Dr. Pakulska resides in Toronto with her husband Alex and dog Maya. When she is not writing about science, she can be found experimenting in the kitchen for her food blog.
